VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Many would say a Child of God, working hard to be a blessing to both the body of Christ and to her community.  In January 2007, the first Sunday the Guiding Light Church held service in the Command Center, Yvonne Gandy sat among hundreds of others worshipping and experiencing the presence of God.  Unbeknown to GLC members, God was sending us a co-laborer to work in his ministry. 

Being obedient to the voice of God, Sister Yvonne joined the Guiding Light Church in January of 2007. However, she didn't just join the church, she partnered with the ministry; a partnership that has blessed parents, youth and all who have visited the GLC website, purchased a cookbook, and even those who attended the Healthy Families event in the spring of 2007.  

After graduating from New Member's Class in March of 2007, Sister Yvonne Gandy wasted no time in getting involved.  She faithfully serves in the Internet Ministry and the Youth Ministry.  She assists with special projects for the Women's Ministry.  In the past she was instrumental in helping the Roses of Light and the Singles Ministry with special events.  When the Educator's Ministry needed additional math tutors for a short season, Sister Yvonne was there.  So again, who is Sister Yvonne Gandy?  A Christian woman with a warm smile, soft voice, always willing to help, and never asking for recognition.

The Volunteer Spotlight page is meant to randomly spotlight a volunteer monthly.  Because of the size of the ministry and the large number of volunteers, we will not be able to spotlight everyone, but we want to say THANK YOU!  To everyone who volunteers within this ministry, we appreciate your hard work, sacrifice and dedication.  We couldn't do what we do without you.  Your labor of love is changing lives and building the kingdom of God.  Again, The Guiding Light Church says THANK YOU!
