The Missing Key to Greater Works - What Christ Says to Do Greaater Things! | Bishop Jim Lowe, Jr.

Wednesday, June 10, 2026

What did Jesus mean when He said, "Greater works than these he will do" (John 14:12)? Was this promise only for the apostles, or does it still apply to believers today? Why do so many Christians read these words and yet struggle to experience the power and effectiveness that Jesus described?

In this message, we carefully walk through John 14:1–18 to discover that the missing key to greater works is not found in human talent, personality, programs, or religious activity. The answer is found in a deeper relationship with Christ Himself.

Jesus reveals that greater works begin with a greater perspective of Christ, require a greater faith in Christ, flow from a greater understanding of Christ, and are accomplished through prayerful dependence upon Him. Through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit and loving obedience to His commands, the risen Christ continues His ministry through His people for the glory of God.

This is not a message about becoming greater than Jesus. It is a message about the exalted Christ doing His work through believers who abide in Him.

If you have ever wondered why your Christian life feels powerless, why your prayers seem ineffective, or whether there is more to the life Christ promised, this study will challenge and encourage you to return to the true source of spiritual fruitfulness.

Jesus said:

"I am the vine, you are the branches... He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." (John 15:5, NKJV)

The secret of greater works is not that we do more for Christ.

The secret is that Christ does more through those who abide in Him.
