When God Tests, Satan Tempts! | Knowing This, You Will Prevail

Every day Jesus taught His disciples to pray:

“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:13)

What did He mean?

Does God actually lead His children into temptation?

Or is Jesus teaching us something far more powerful?

In this message, we discover that God never leads His children into sin. Instead, He leads them through tests that strengthen faith, build character, and transform them into the likeness of Christ. Satan, however, seeks to take those very same tests and turn them into temptations that produce fear, doubt, discouragement, and ultimately destruction.

When you understand the sixth petition of the Lord’s Prayer, your perspective on every trial changes.

You no longer ask,

“Why is this happening to me?”

Instead, you begin asking,

“What is God producing in me through this?”

From Abraham on Mount Moriah, to Joseph in Egypt, to Job’s suffering, to Jesus in the wilderness, Scripture reveals the same truth:

God tests for transformation.

Satan tempts for destruction.

Knowing this gives every believer confidence that no trial enters our lives outside the loving providence of our Heavenly Father. Every circumstance becomes an opportunity to trust Him, obey His Word, and experience His transforming grace.

You will discover:

• What Matthew 6:13 really means.
• Why God never leads His children into sin.
• The difference between God’s testing and Satan’s temptation.
• How every trial can become a stepping stone to spiritual growth.
• Why God’s purpose is always your transformation, never your destruction.
• How to face every challenge with confidence instead of fear.
• Why believers can prevail because God is faithful.

No matter what you are facing today, remember this:

The trial may be real.

The temptation may be fierce.

But God’s purpose is greater than Satan’s attack.

Your Father is leading you in paths of righteousness, not toward failure. Through His Spirit, His Word, and His preserving grace, He is transforming you into the image of Christ.

Knowing this…

You will prevail.
