Jesus said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” We must have a mind focused on the things of God and not the things of man if we are going to please God. Satan does not want us to realize that our supreme purpose in life is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. He wants us focus on the things of man! Many Christians come up short in this area. We must have our minds set to glorify God. Otherwise, we become the unwitting pawns of Satan and will experience the displeasure of God himself just as Peter did. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? Many Christians are focused on their life Bishop provides an explanation of the soul and the distinction between it and the body. Then he gives a visual illustration of how long the soul will live even though the body dies. The soul will live because it is an extension of God himself as the breath of God. God cannot die and the soul of man cannot die, because it comes from God. A person is born into the world to determine their eternal destination as a living soul; heaven or hell.
