Restoring the Perfect Relationship With God

RESTORING THE PERFECT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

1. There is a GOD, creator of all things — living and nonliving.

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." GENESIS 1:27

"Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. JOHN 1:3

2. In the beginning all things created were in perfect relationship with GOD'S way.

"As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him." II SAMUEL 22:31

"God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning-- the sixth day." GENESIS 1:31

3. The first man, Adam, chose another way and destroyed this perfect relationship.

"We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all." ISAIAH 53:6

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."ROMANS 3:23

"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned-- ROMANS 5:12

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." ROMAN 6:23

4. GOD desired a way to restore the original relationship because He loved man.

"All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant." PSALM 25:10

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." JOHN 3:16

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."> ROMANS 5:8

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."1 JOHN 4:9

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him." 1 JOHN 3:1

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 JOHN 4:9

5. He has given the way.

"Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." ISAIAH 53:4

"I will make your battlements of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones." ISAIAH 54:12

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man." ROMANS 8:1

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast." EPHESIANS 2:8

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." REVELATION 3:20

6. THE WAY is JESUS.

"In him was life, and that life was the light of men." JOHN 1:4

"Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." JOHN 14:6

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." JOHN 10:10

"Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." JOHN 14:6

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." ROMANS 6:23

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 JOHN 5:11

7. Now through JESUS each man can choose THE WAY and have the Perfect Relationship with GOD.

"See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess." DEUTERONOMY 30:15

"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."JOSHUA 24:15

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." JOHN 1:12

"That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." ROMANS 10:9

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." ROMANS 10:13

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17
