You Are In Hell! - You Have Been God, Damned!

Scripture speaks much of hell, with Jesus raising the subject more than any other biblical voice Matt. 5:22, 29–30; 18:8–9; 25:46; Mark 9:43–48; Luke 16:23; John 3:36; 5:24; 10:28

More at Deut. 32; Isa. 66; Dan. 12; Job 20:7; Matt. 5, 10, 18, 23; Mark 9; Luke 12; John 5; Ro 9:22-23; Gal. 6; Eph. 5; 2 Thess. 1; Rev. 14, 20).

Matthew 7:21 (ESV): Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Jn 3:36 (ESV) — 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

What are we to conclude from these two scriptures? Those who believe on Jesus Christ and are obedient to do the will of the Father who is in heaven.

James gives it to us very succinctly.

Jas 2:24 (ESV) — 24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

To be saved, you must believe in Jesus enough that you obey the word of God.

Now I want to use your imagination and give you a revelation. I want you to consider the possibility that just a second ago, your appointed time with death arrived and you died, and when you opened your eyes, to your surprise, in anguish and torment you realize,

You Are In Hell

and Have Been

God Damned!

Just a second ago you were in the world of man, but now you find yourself in a world with Satan and his demons and his children. You are in hell!

You are in a place that is called by Jude the “utter darkness.” You open your eyes and you’re not in a casket you are entombed in a lake of liquid fire. A fire that shall never be quenched. You are experiencing misery, feeling pain you have never encountered before and there is no relief. You are being burned alive.

You ask yourself why? How did you get here? You believed in Jesus you cry, but the voice of your soul inside says, “even demons believe in Jesus and shudder, and you, just like the demons, did not make him Lord!”

You, just like the demons, made a practice of sin.

You, just like the demons, continued in the sin, you found joy in.

You, just like the demons, rejected the voice of God, when he called to you to obey his word.

You, just like the demons, did not become a true child of God conforming to the image of Christ but by your actions you prove yourself a child of Satan conforming to the world.

You were warned Hebrews 10:26–29 (ESV):  For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.

You, committed the unpardonable sin, when you refuse to follow the Holy Spirit when he was telling you the way to go. Now, you just like the demons, will spend eternity in hell, and just like the demons of hell, you will now experience the full wrath of the judgment of God.

But, you say you went to church, you participated in praise and worship, you listened to sermons, you were well thought of by men, you served in certain small groups, you ended every one of your prayers in the name of Jesus. Then the voice will say, you remember Jesus said

Matthew 7:21–23 (ESV): Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

You are one of the many. You said Lord, Lord but you did not honor him as Lord. You did not obey him as Lord.

Jn 3:36 (ESV) — 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

You followed the many on the broad road to destruction, you would did walk the narrow road to eternal life. You conformed to the pattern of the world and refused to be transformed by the renewing of your mind to be conformed to the image of God’s son.

Jesus, who knows your heart had this to say to many who were religious and worshipped God like you

Matthew 23:27–28 (ESV): Mt 23:27 (ESV) — 27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness. 28 So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

You followed the many and gave more praise for the things of man than the things of God. You shouted more for your athletic games, your entertainers, your political leaders, things the world thought worthy, you fought for injustices done to others, but you did nothing for the injustices done to your creator.

You made gods of things of the world. You attended more events of your liking approved by people of the world, than things to lift up and glorify your god. You even stopped assembling with the saints of God against his commandment to forsake not your assembling together. You even failed to honor his Sabbath, the day that he honored. You didn’t honor his death and suffering by taking communion and rightly discerning the body of Christ.

Then, there were the hidden sins that no one else knew about but you and God. You did these from time to time in secret, but they were not secrets hidden from God. If you did not repent before you died, and were not right with Christ, you died in your sin and you will pay the price. Were they worth the cost you will now have to pay?

You followed the ways of the many people of the world and rejected the one knew you before you were born. The one who kept and protected you when you slept at night.  The one that brought you into the world. The one who was there with you through all your hardships and trials, but instead of following the one you followed the many who have forsaken you. How could you disrespect his Lordship over you.

You accepted the abominable things of the many and the ways of the world. You refused to stand and speak his word. When the many declared evil good, and good evil you said nothing. You did not want to offend the many.

You were ashamed of his gospel in front of the many and Jesus was therefore, ashamed of you before the father. You sowed to the wind, but now in hell, where you find yourself, you shall reap the whirlwind.

You went along with the foolishness of the many, when you should have embraced the truth of the scripture, you followed the foolish doctrines of men and the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees and their political positions.

Where are the many you followed now? Where are your people of fame and renown? Where are your people you took pride in? Where are the many of your culture? Where are the many of your nation? Where are the many of your race? They have forsaken you! You chose them of the one who said I will never leave you, nor forsake you. You chose wrong… Now, you are in hell!

Jesus told you that if you were to come after him, you would have to deny yourself, take up your cross and follow him. You were to place nothing else before him, but you placed many things before him time and time again in your life.

And His Holy Spirit called out to you pleading with you time and time again in your life to repent and obey the Lord Jesus, and time and time again you ignored his call to make things right with God. You did not bear the fruit of a child of God. You were no different than the many on the broad road to destruction because you walked with them, and refused to walk the narrow road with Christ and enter through the narrow gate to eternal life with him.

There is no need of further discussion. The time for correction was when you lived your life among the sons of men. You could have become a son of God conforming to the image of his son, but you did not. So now, you will live your eternity, among the sons of Satan.

Jesus told you to produce fruit for him Mt 3:10 (ESV) — 10 Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

The tree of your life was cut down because of your lack of good fruit in your life, but worse, it is now thrown into the fire to be burned and not consumed.

Remember Jesus cursed the fig tree that did not produce fruit when he desired it.

Now it becomes clear, and you cannot deny the truth, the voice inside proclaims only God’s truth and now you have hell to pay for the life you lived disrespecting Christ as your Lord. God had an expectation of you and you did not measure up.

You followed pastors of your choosing, not pastors of God’s choosing. You wanted to hear messages that comforted you and not messages that perfected you. You persecuted the ones who told the truth. You left them because you were offended by the word they spoke. Refusing to listen to them, you listened to the ones that made you feel good; who encouraged you with myths and fables with the cunning use of rhetoric and enticing words.

You rejected the ones God sent, and by rejecting them you rejected him. You heard words that gave you glory and not glory to God. You want pastors to tell you how to get the fish and loaves. How to prosper in this life without regard to eternal life and now you pay the price of trying to gain the world but you have lost your soul.

The voice reminds you, like the rich man that had Lazarus at his door, you had your best in life, but now you are in agony, and it will be increasing more torment like this forevermore as the demons of hell take joy in persecuting you; deriding you for your stupidity of listening to them instead of him who was your creator.

As part of your torment, the voice inside will continually remind you that you didn’t have to end up here. Jesus died and paid the price so you would not have to come here.

You accepted him as your Savior, but you rejected him as your Lord. You really did believed he was the way the truth and the life. So, why didn’t you obey him? You could have, but you love your life more than you love him. You wouldn’t deny yourself the pleasures of the world even if his word said it was wrong.

He was to be your Lord and your God. The father said Jesus was his beloved son and you should listen to him, but you did not follow him to do as he said. You are one of the ones Jesus spoke about when he said, Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

You heard his word, and you knew what he said to do, and some things you chose to do (if it pleased you) and other things you chose not to do when you didn’t want to.

The voice reminds you, you were supposed to do more than just hear the word, you were to do the word! Your excuses were unacceptable because God don’t accept excuses.

Jesus told you to love one another, as he had loved you, but there were certain people you chose not to love. Certain people were certainly too hard to love. God would understand your heart.

You were told to forgive, and you would be forgiven, but certain people you just couldn’t forgive and God knew why. For your failure to obey the Lord Jesus Christ, the wrath of God is being poured out on you. You rejected the one command that fulfilled all the commands.

Because you would let the love of Christ dwell in you, you would have been able to love as he loved. But because she would not let the love of Christ reign in your heart, he will have no part of you, and you are now in hell.

This place you find yourself in was never meant for you. It was prepared for the devil and his demons. But because you chose to do things your way and reject the word of God, you are being punished in a way that was meant to punish the devil for all the evil he did throughout the ages. You only sinned for a season, but your torment here will be for eternity. You will be punished like your father Satan with the heavy hand of God falling upon you as your punishment.

This punishment was never meant for you. All you had to do was to accept Christ’s sacrifice and conform to his image. But you chose to conform to the image of people in the world. You rejected the offer of God’s son to become a part of God’s family. You chose to be recognized among the children of men. Now you will spend the rest of eternity with the demons of hell who also rejected the proper relationship with God.

Now there is only the awful dreadful reality of never-ending torture, suffering and pain and that is just the beginning. It will be like this day in and day out being punished with no mercy, or compassion, or pity, given. There will be no release from your painful anguish, just continuous misery and suffering.

You did not honor his Sabbath and so for you, there will be no sabbath. There  will be no time of rest. You have fallen into the hands of an angry God who inflict the sentence of punishment you deserve for your rebellion against him as Lord over your life. How could you ever figure you could defy him and get away with it?

How are you any different than Satan?

You wanted to believe that God would not damn a person to hell. You really want to believe that but the truth of the voice inside lets you know, God did not damn you to hell, you damned yourself.

You did not study the word that you had heard. You would go to church to hear the word, but you did not carry the word you heard away with you. You did not show yourself a workman of the word. If you had done so, you would not be in this place of shame.

How often did you take notes of the word of God the minister of God shared with you? Did you review them as you were told. That you not realize the Holy Spirit would have told you many more things if you had honored the minister God sent you to the?

Who made you God that you could decide what you would and what you would not do from the word of God? Did you think you could make yourself ruler over God? Did you really think God would bow to your will? He anointed Jesus as Lord, not you!

You failed to understand your relationship with him. He alone is God. You cannot change his word to your liking. Your attempts to do so amount to sin and the wages of sin are death.

You busied your life with the enticements of the world and gave very little consideration of where you would spend eternity. Satan deceived you, as he deceived Eve, you believed there would not be a judgment like this for you.

Adam and Eve did not believe they would die because of their sin. The people in Noah’s day did not believe that God would destroy the world by flood because of their sin. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah did not believe God would rain down fire and brimstone because of their sin. Pharaoh did not believe that God would destroy his army because of his sin against the Israelites. Saul did not believe that God would withdraw his spirit because of his sin. David did not believe he would have to account for his sin with Bathsheba. We could go on and on but the truth is, sin will find you out.

You too believed wrong about your sin

and now you have hell to pay. WHY DID YOU LET IT GET THIS WAY? NOW IT IS TOO LATE TO TURN BACK NOW!

What you thought was important in life was merely a distraction and you served Satan more than you served God. The word of God told you specifically how to live and you thought you could do as you pleased. You thought you would be in heaven now but you thought wrong! You are in hell.

The voice reminds you, there is a way that seems right to a man but in the end, it was the way to death. Yet, you  lived your life the way you wanted to live. Like the prodigal son, you did things the way you wanted. You follow the ways of the world. But unlike the prodigal son, of certain sins, you did not repent, you continued in them until the very end, and you died with unrepented sin.  The weight of that sin has pulled you down to hell.

The voice reminded you of the sin of presumption believing God would not judge you righteously has cost you, your eternity of peace. God warns you of this in his word

Dt 29:18–20 (ESV) — 18 Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit, 19 one who, when he hears the words of this sworn covenant, blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall be safe, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.’ This will lead to the sweeping away of moist and dry alike. 20 The Lord will not be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the Lord and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and the curses written in this book will settle upon him, and the Lord will blot out his name from under heaven.

You rejected God’s way of life for you. You walked in your way of life doing what you wanted to do. Thinking you would be safe because you believe in Jesus. You brought forth bitter fruit.

Now, you are in hell and you shall experience God’s wrath on your life in hell.

The voice quotes Revelation 14:10–11 (ESV): he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night,

In the world of man God would execute judgment and punishment, but he would execute it mixing in grace and mercy, otherwise mankind would not have survived. But here in hell, there will be no mixture of grace and mercy. You will feel the unleashing of the full wrath of God.

You see, when you sinned and you were alive in the world, God was angry every time at your sin, but God was merciful and in his grace, he gave you time to get it right. God was long-suffering with you, not willing that you should perish in your sin, but God is not forever suffering. God is righteous and just. There is no place for sinners in his presence. You had to go to hell!

The voice reminds you of two attributes of God in Ex 34:6–7 (ESV) — 6 The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, 7 keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty

Because of his grace and mercy God tolerated your imperfections. But his grace and mercy does not give you a license to continue to sin. Remember the woman caught in the act of adultery Jesus said to her when he ask where were her accusers Jn 8:11 (ESV) — 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”

Now, as his grace and mercy are to the utter most to forgive, even so the power of his anger is also to the utter most to inflict judgement.

Jesus tried to warn you of his place when he spoke of hell more than any single voice in the Bible. He sent his prophets throughout the generations to warn you and others to avoid hell.

He bled, suffered, and died on the cross to give you a way to stay out of this place but you like the many, chose not to listen. You wanted a savior, not a Lord! You can not have him as one without the other.

Paul tried to warn you when he said 2 Th 1:7–9 (ESV) —when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

God is the one you offended when you refused to do as he said by his Spirit and now his word comes true, vengeance is mine said the Lord. God will personally see to you being punished himself. There will be no relief because you sinned against an eternal God, and your punishment will be eternal. You chose to practice sin against God and now, there is no forgiveness left. Every second you will know nothing but pain and torment because it was God you offended.

You offended his Lordship by not honoring his Lordship over your life!

You will now know Heb 10:31 (ESV) — 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

You will dread every second that your soul is alive in this place and your soul will be alive but ever in this place and will never die. Nothing will relieve the torment you will feel, it will increase and increase every day for an eternity. It was God you offended, and it is God who will have his vengeance eternally against you.

Here in hell, you are alone. The many you follow after have forsaken you. Like the rich man you know of no others in torment. You are in solitary confinement. You do not even have the contentment of knowing that there are others who are suffering like you. You cannot see them, but you can hear them in their pitiful cries of pain and agony. You are by yourself in your torment and anguish suffering in these flames of hell feeling all alone. What else do you expect? You are in hell!

What makes matters worse you can see into heaven and see the joy and pleasures that others are having in the presence of the Lord. You have the knowledge of knowing you can never experience the joy that they are experiencing. You will only experience the complete total wrath of the almighty God you rejected as your God.

The worms will eat on you but you will not be consumed. The fires of hell will burn but you will not be burned up. There is no death. There is no relief. There is only weeping and gnashing of teeth ahead for you for ever and ever and ever

There is torment here unlike the worst you have ever known. Eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard of the awful penalty of punishment for those who have rejected the mercy of God. But you, poor soul will experience it all!

God will inflict upon you unimaginable horrors of punishments that never entered the mind of man.  There will be no parole. There is no appeal. There is no end to your pain. There is only the dreadful and fearful expectation of everlasting, eternal, forever and ever suffering.  There is no hope for your salvation. You are eternally damned!

You are in hell and now you will know what it truly means to be god damned.

Your name was not found in the Lamb’s book of life and now you are here suffering in the lake of molten liquid fire.  Like the burning bush Moses saw in the wilderness, that was burning and not consumed, you are a burning soul and you will not be consumed. The flames will burn you and your pain will consume and overwhelms you.

The pain is unbearable, but you will bear it and survive it to bear it again and again. Night and day.

Hotter than a blowtorch, your whole body is enveloped in the flaming fire. Like being in a pool of water, you are in a pool of flames.

You know from the rich man who in life ignored Lazarus the beggar, you would beg for even one drop of water to get just a little brief relief, but you will never, ever get it, never get it!

You are now a vessel for the wrath of God to be poured into. Ezekiel 7:8–9 (ESV): Now I will soon pour out my wrath upon you, and spend my anger against you, and judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. 9 And my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the Lord, who strikes.

You wanted to believe that God would not create hell, but notice he said you would know it was he who did it. He is God and he does the punishment himself. He will not change his mind about what he will do

Paul had this to say about an extreme between heaven and hell

Romans 9:22–23 (ESV): What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23 in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory

Job said this

Job 20:7 (ESV): he will perish forever like his own dung;

those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’

Ezekiel 22:14 (ESV): Can your courage endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.

He will personally deal with you for your transgressions because it was he who told you what and what not to do. No matter what men may have said, you went against God’s word.

Hell will be terrible for you and all others because it is God himself who gets his justice by inflicting the punishment upon you himself. There is no escape!

You will be overcome with worms that will eat of you and the fire will burn you and yet not consume you. You will feel the pain of them continuously biting, eating, gnawing and chewing on the parts of whatever body God has given you and you will never be eaten away. The pain will last without ceasing and you will feel it forever day after day.

While on earth, trouble did not come to last always, it came to pass, but in hell trouble has come to last.

Jesus warning of hell said three times about the ungodly worms and the fire that will not go out.

Mark 9:43–48 (KJV): 43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

The book of revelation talks about the wrath of an Almighty God on mere humans.

Revelation 6:15–17 (ESV): Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, 16 calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”

YOU MADE YOUR BED, NOW ENJOY YOUR STAY IN HELL…SATAN HAS LEFT A FIRE BURNING FOR YOU.

Remember,

Matthew 7:21 (ESV): Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Jn 3:36 (ESV) — 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

I’m about to end this message but your terror could just be beginning in the next second, the next minute, the next hour or tomorrow. The time is uncertain, but you have an appointment when you will close your eyes and die. You can open them up in Hell or you can open them up in heaven.

The choice is up to you. Choose you this day whom you will serve as your Lord. Remember, you believe in Jesus, but have you made him your Lord.

Everyone bow your head. Gracious and merciful God we come before you acknowledging that you are Lord over the universe. All of us have sinned and come short of your glory. There are those of us who will now acknowledge we have not lived up to honoring you as Lord. We have those areas of our life where we have not submitted to your Lordship. Sinfully, we have continued to hold on to those areas and not put them under your control. There are areas in our life where we have not done right and have exploited presumptuously your grace in your mercy.

Today Lord, we repent of our rebellion and treason against you. You must be Lord over our entire life or you will not be Lord at all. Forgive us for not mastering the sin that lurks within our hearts. Strengthen us to overcome our weakness. We do not want to experience hell. So help us Lord to overcome the sin in our life where we have not made you Lord. We renounce those things that you and we know now and we seek your face and plead the blood of Jesus and ask for mercy to help us defeat the enemy that wants to master us.

This day we will go forward with a renewed effort like the woman caught in the act of adultery we will go forth with the intention to sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon us. Help us Lord we have been caught in the web of Satan. Teach us to overcome our propensity to sin.

Show us the way of righteousness that we might walk in it. We need you Lord!

    • Dt 32:22 (ESV) — 22 For a fire is kindled by my anger, and it burns to the depths of Sheol, devours the earth and its increase, and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.

    • Is 66:15–16 (ESV) — 15 “For behold, the Lord will come in fire, and his chariots like the whirlwind, to render his anger in fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. 16 For by fire will the Lord enter into judgment, and by his sword, with all flesh; and those slain by the Lord shall be many.

All of this will come to pass very soon!

Re 14:9–11 (ESV) — 9 And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

Re 20:10 (ESV) — 10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Re 20:14–15 (ESV) — 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
