Promises Of God To Have Faith In!
Galatians 5:22-25
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,

Faith (Easton’s Bible Dictionary):
the persuasion of the mind that a certain
Here’s another definition from a different book.
{New definition}
Faith (Dictionary of Bible Themes):
A constant outlook of trust towards God, whereby human beings abandon all reliance on their own efforts and put their full confidence in him, his word and his promises.
Faith is what all this is about.
“You are part of the faith…”
Meaning you are part of the group that trusts.
You are part of the group that believes in God.
You place your confidence in God and not yourself.
The word itself says it this way:
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see.
We talked last time about how this is related in strong belief.
Belief in God.
But having faith as a FRUIT of the Spirit means you have access to things beyond our own power.
For Example:
Anyone Can Have Joy, But We Have Access To A Greater Level Of Joy Through The Fruit Of The Spirit!
You have access to greater levels of joy and peace…
and patience…that others don’t have.
JUST because you are a believer.
John 15:4-5: We are able to bear fruit because we are in Christ.
So when it comes to faith…we have a strong sense to be able to believe.
…we have a strong sense to be able to trust.
So our faith gives us the ability to go beyond JUST belief in God.
Last time we talked about building our faith in God from:
His word
His works
But there’s more!
Having Faith In God Means To Also Have Faith In What He Said!
If God said it…he means it.
And if we believe God keeps his word…
Then what God said becomes promises for us.
Abraham…God said he would have a son.
It took awhile…but it happened.
When God Makes A Promise, You Can Have Faith In That!
Moses…you will bring my people out of Egypt.
It took awhile...but it happened.
Gideon…you will be a leader for my people to stand up against the Midianites.
Didn’t take long at all…but it happened.
But God didn’t just make promises for THOSE people.
God Makes Promises For His People!
And If we have faith in God…
We should have faith in what he said.
Numbers 23:19
19 God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?
God doesn’t lie.
Does he say something and not do it?
Does he make promises and not come through!
The bible is FULL of God’s promises to his people!
But those promises don’t apply to me…
John 1:12-13
12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
To those who believed in him…
So if you are a believer in Christ…this applies to you!
So you can find faith in the promises of God also!
What Promises Of God Can You Have Faith In?
Promises Of God To Have Faith In:
1. “Even In The Darkest Of Times, I Am Never Alone"
Deuteronomy 31:8
8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
He is not only in front of you, “making a way.”
He is with you.
You are not alone.
You aren’t facing your trials alone…for God is there with you.
Psalm 23:4
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
No matter how bad it gets…
You don’t have to fear.
Because God is with you.
“God Is With Me Always”
Promises Of God To Have Faith In:
2. “When I Feel There’s Nothing Left, God Will Restore Me”
When you feel your tank is empty…God will restore you.
Isaiah 40:29
29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Being weary is looked at as a terrible thing…
But when you ARE weary…God restores you with HIS strength.
Isaiah 40:31
31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
God gives from his strength!
When Our Tanks Get Empty, God Fills Us Back Up!
Psalm 119:28
28 My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
When our souls are weary with sorrow.
When the days are long and they are heavy…
God provides restoration…
Philippians 4:13
13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
Promises Of God To Have Faith In:
3. “My God Will Lead Me To Good Things”
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
“He will make your paths straight…”
The Lord goes before you {Deuteronomy 31:8}
What’s he doing in front of you?
Making your way clear…
Psalm 73:24
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
God guides us.
Psalm 23:1-3
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
He LEADS.
He GUIDES.
Stop Listening To The Wrong People When God Can Lead You!
Psalm 37:23-24 (NKJV)
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
We can sometimes fall…but we can get back up.
Because we are not cast down.
Promises Of God To Have Faith In:
4. “God Will Take My Worries And Give Me Peace”
Did you all know that God works by transactions?
But unlike most people who want fair trade for things..
God wants things we don’t need…and gives us things much better.
God will take your worries…and he will give you peace for it.
Matthew 11:28-30

The Things That Worry Us Don’t Worry God.
God is willing to share his peace with us.
Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
Promises Of God To Have Faith In:
5. “God Hears And Answers When I Call”
Another cool thing about God is he will speak to us when we call!
Jeremiah 33:3

God doesn’t just hear you.
God responds.
James 1:5
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
It says if you LACK something…
Ask God
Because he will give it…
God will respond!
Mark 11:24
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Keep Your Faith In A God Who Will Hear AND Respond!
Promises Of God To Have Faith In:
6. “God Will Fight My Battles For Me”
1 Samuel 17:47 {David and Goliath}
47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
It’s God’s battle…not ours…
Exodus 14:13-14
13 Moses answered the people,
Don’t be afraid…because it’s not your faith.
Stand Firm, Stay Strong And Watch God Work!
The Egyptians you see today you will never see again…
The Lord will fight for you…you just need to watch it.
There Might Be A Fight, But It’s Been Fixed!
No weapon formed…
Nothing created…will work!
