 to Submit to God

Is 55:6-7 (NKJV) — 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

Lk 13:24–25 (NKJV) — 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’

Mt 24:44 (NKJV) — 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Lk 12:19–20 (NKJV) — 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’

1 Th 5:2–3 (NKJV) — 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

Heb 10:26–27 (NKJV) — 26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Questions:

  • What does it mean to you that God says, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever” (Genesis 6:3)? Are you living as though you believe your opportunity to respond is limited?

  • Isaiah 55:6 says to seek the Lord “while He may be found.” What might it look like in your life if God were to no longer be near because of repeated rejection?

  • Have you ever sensed the Holy Spirit prompting you to act or surrender something—and delayed responding? What kept you from submitting immediately?

  • Jesus warned in Luke 12:20 that someone could lose their life suddenly. If tonight your soul were required of you, would you be ready to stand before God?

  • Hebrews 10:26–27 speaks of willful sin after receiving the truth. Are there areas in your life where you are knowingly resisting the will of God?

  • How does the warning in Proverbs 29:1 (“He who is often rebuked… will suddenly be destroyed”) challenge your view of God’s patience and judgment?

  • Do you truly believe “now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2)? If so, what action should you take today to show that you are not delaying your surrender to God?

  • Jesus said the door was shut on the unprepared in Matthew 25:10. What steps are you taking to make sure you’re spiritually ready before that door closes on you?

  • Galatians 6:7 says, “God is not mocked.” In what ways might your current lifestyle be sowing seeds of rebellion rather than submission—and what harvest might that bring?

  • Hebrews 3:15 warns not to harden your heart. Are you still sensitive to God’s voice—or have you grown numb to His conviction? What does your response say about your spiritual condition?
