{All scriptures are NIV84 unless stated}

As we get ready for 2025, there are some things we have to hold onto.

Hebrews 10:23

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Remember hope…

meaning the God who can see into tomorrow!

that SAME God is making plans for you for 2025!

We should have hope in him!

Hebrews 10:23 (MSG)

Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.

Let’s keep a firm grip on what God has said… the promises he’s made.

because he ALWAYS keeps his word.

This month we’re going to be talking about WHAT to put our hope in. And THAT is going to be the promises of God.

Message Title:

“God’s Promise Of Peace And More!” (God’s Promises pt. 2)

These promises will be things we can hold onto. Take a look at these each week.

take a look at these each month.

Because we put our hope in our God.

but also the things he has promised us.

Promises Of God To Stand On:

  • Hard Times Will Come, But He Will Fight For You!

{repeat/type}

John 16:33

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

This is very important

Many Times We Lose Hope Because We Forget Our God Fights For Us!

Deuteronomy 1:29-30

29 Then I said to you, “Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. 30 The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes,

He Allowed Us To See It Before, So We Can Have Hope In Him Now!

Promises Of God To Stand On:

  • Whatever Is Needed, God Will Supply!

{repeat/type}

Matthew 6:31-33

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Don’t worry about what you don’t have.

Your heavenly father knows you need things.

These things will be GIVEN to you…

IF:

“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.”

Our Needs Will Be Met As Long As We Continue To Follow The Lord!

We talked about Samson and how the Lord gives provision also.

You Don’t Know What The Lord Is Doing For You Behind The Scenes!

The Lord might have been doing something years ago that will show itself tomorrow.

don’t doubt the Lord.

because he is working for you!!

Let’s talk about the new ones for today!

Promises Of God To Stand On:

  • We Have Access To True Peace!

{repeat/type}

John 16:33

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We stated this last week. trouble comes.

trouble will come. but when it does…

we have to remember that Christ has overcome the world.

And he told us that in him we can have peace.

Peace (Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary)

- From the Hebrew “Shalom” Means to “be whole, complete”

What is it that helps us to be at peace? maybe a vacation in our favorite spot?

maybe finding some time away from others? maybe watching your favorite show/movie?

Maybe even music…

but THESE things may not work for everyone. what gives me peace may not give others peace.

but there is a different peace that works for all of us.

John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Jesus tells us that there is something he leaves with us. He leaves us peace.

but HIS peace.

Not what the world gives.

“do not let your hearts be troubled…”

“In this world you will have trouble…”

“do not let your hearts be troubled.”

Just because you have trouble in life…

doesn’t mean you have to have trouble in your heart.

Just Because Things Are Happening On The Outside Don’t Mean Things Have To Be Happening On The Inside!

Romans 5:1

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

This is a promise.

because we have been justified through faith. because we have accepted Christ. because we are a believer.

If You Are A Believer, You Have Access To True Peace!

This is different peace than we can find other places. So how do we find this peace?

Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)

3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

We will be kept in perfect peace…

if we keep our minds on him. because keeping our minds on him…

means we trust in him.

In HIM we can have peace.

through keeping our minds on him. by doing that…

that’s how we have access to HIS peace!

Being complete…whole.

God’s Peace Doesn’t Mean The Absence Of Problems. It Means Being Content Through Them!

Keeping our minds on him is what keeps us.

Matthew 11:28-29

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

This also leads us into promise #4.

Promises Of God To Stand On:

  • When We Get Weak, That’s When He’ll Be Strong!

{repeat/type}

One of the things we will have to deal with is getting tired. we might get tired of life.

get tired of doing the right things get tired of “living” how God wants. get tired of doing the wrong things get tired of being looked over

tired of seeing things that SHOULD be happening… don’t…

The bible does tell us to not become weary in well doing. but it also tells us that even in those times…

he’ll help us.

Isaiah 40:29

29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

This means that in those times when you’re weak… that the Lord can increase your power.

This means that just like peace…

there is a source of strength we get.

and THAT is the Lord’s strength.

We may get tired of praying for the same thing over and over. we might get weary of praying for a healing.

for a new job.

for a relationship to be worked out. for a specific blessing

for a “break”

But even when we run out of strength… the Lord will replenish!

When We Are Down To Our Last, That’s When The Lord Will Strengthen Us!

Isaiah 40:30

30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

It’s okay to be tired.

it’s okay to be weak…

because THAT is where the Lord works!

2 Corinthians 12:9

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

His power is made perfect in weakness!

It’s okay to be tired!

Because when you can keep going after all that’s happened to you… you will KNOW it’s the Lord that did it!

When We Are Weak, That’s When The Lord Takes Over For Us!

2 Corinthians 12:10

10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Paul is saying that the pain is going somewhere. So WE can take joy in weaknesses.

when people insult us.

when people ridicule us.

when others always have something to say. when times are hard.

when we have to “PRESS” when we are mistreated

for whatever reason.

Because when we are weak.

THAT’s when we are strong!

Trouble Will Come, But It’s During THOSE Times The Lord Strengthens Us!

{recap}

Our God keeps his promises.

What he said, he will do.

As we get ready to enter 2025…

find some promises and stand on them.

Promises Of God To Stand On:

  • Hard Times Will Come, But He Will Fight For You!

Promises Of God To Stand On:

  • Whatever Is Needed, God Will Supply!

Promises Of God To Stand On:

  • We Have Access To True Peace!

Promises Of God To Stand On:

  • When We Get Weak, That’s When He’ll Be Strong!

Remember to keep your eyes open for what the Lord can do. many years ago…

the Lord saw fit to make a sacrifice for you. that many years later…

would still be a blessing for YOU.
