Message Title:

“Unbreakable: Promises To Keep You Together”

We are nearing the end of 2025! Next year is unpredictable.

We have no idea where we will be.

we have no idea what will happen.

What Do You Do When You Can’t See Tomorrow? You Stand On What The Lord Has Already Said!

What did he tell Moses?

He told him to go get his people.

Exodus 3:8

8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—

The Lord gave a promise.

I will take you from here to there.

I will move my people from where you are.. to the promised land.

Moses asked the Lord.

how is this going to be possible?

Exodus 3:12(a)

12 And God said, “I will be with you.

So we have a promise from the Lord.

He is GOING to take them from where they were… to where he desires.

And they have a stamp on it why?

Because the Lord said he would be with them. This is a promise from the Lord.

It took some time…but the Lord fulfilled that promise.

It took longer than they wanted….

but that was their fault…not the Lord’s.

But either way…

his promise proved true!

Our God Is A Promise Keeper!

We can trust the promises from the Lord.

Hebrews 10:23

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is  faithful.

I started saying that we don’t know what 2026 has in store… but we know the God who’s already seen it.

And HE has left promises for us!

The Future Is Always A Mystery To Those Who Don’t Have Promises To Stand On!

We can learn to trust our will.

or we can learn to trust his.

Hebrews 10:23 (MSG)

Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.

Let’s keep a firm grip on what God has said… let’s HOLD onto it those promises…

because he ALWAYS keeps his word.

We are spending this month building ourselves up for 2026. and to DO that…

we’re going into the new year STANDING on the promises of God!

There will be good days… there will be bad days.

There will be trials.

there will be blessings… We might bend some.

but the Lord is going to keep us together.

Message Title:

“Unbreakable: Promises To Keep You Together”

These promises will be things we can hold onto.

The Lord’s Word Doesn’t Change!

Hebrews 6:16-19a (MSG)

When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up.

This is saying when people make promises…they generally make an oath. sometimes that oath is to one another.

if they can’t agree to trust one another. that oath is made into a contract,

which is a guarantee that can be held up in court

17 When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable.

This is saying that the Lord wanted to guarantee his promise to us. and to guarantee it…he made an oath

using his own words.

The Lord can’t lie.

and because he can’t…the promise can’t be broken by him.

Verse 18

18 We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God.

This promise is something we can take RIGHT back to him. “Lord these are your promises…”

This is what you have promised your children.

So today we are talking about promises we can take with us into next year. This was a good one from last year so let’s start with it:

Unbreakable Promise #1:

  • There Will Be Rough Days, But Our Lord Will See Us Through Them!

{repeat}

Let’s get the hard stuff out of the way first. There WILL be rough days.

Jesus said it himself.

John 16:33

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

There are 3 promises here. 1st:

We can have peace in Christ.

The 2nd:

in this world you will have trouble.

“But I Only Want Good Promises!"

I just got out of 2025…

I don’t want promises of hard times!

Hard times are a PROMISE. Hard times happen for everyone.

There will be trouble.

We will have to deal with something. Some things might be minor…

Some might be major.

But John 16:33 also tells us that… “HE has overcome the world.”

He told us this so we don’t get confused.

Don’t lose hope in our God!

This is something that happens to us so many times.

Many Times We Lose Hope Because We Forget Our God Fights For Us!

But we lose hope often because of the size of the problem. We lose the sight of our God with the sight of our problems. Some of us are just wired that way.

We have tunnel vision.

We can’t see PAST the problems before us.

But again Jesus TOLD us this…

so that in him we would have peace.

In the midst of our problems…

out of all the things we might be lacking…. peace wouldn’t be one of them!

We can find PEACE in knowing it’s a fight the Lord is doing FOR us!

Moses told the Israelites that same thing when Pharaoh was coming for them.

Exodus 14:14

14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Whatever that problem is: if you lost your job

if you have some type of sickness

if you’re money continues to get low

if everyone seems to be winning but you even those who wronged you.

if you FEEL like you’ve been a failure. and you KEEP getting stepped on

if you’ve lost hope

This isn’t anything the Lord hasn’t seen before!

Ecclesiastes 1:9

9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

This says that history repeats itself.

The circumstances and people may change… but it’s nothing new.

That ALSO goes to our problems!

He told Joshua:

Deuteronomy 3:21-22

21 At that time I commanded Joshua: “You have seen with your own eyes all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings. The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms over there where you are going. 22 Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.”

Let’s highlight some things special in this verse.

Joshua has SEEN with his OWN EYES… what the LORD has done…

He told Joshua to remember what he saw. You’ve seen the Lord work for you…

Because the same thing that the Lord did to the last people who came for you. He’s going to do to the NEW people who are coming for you!

You Have Watched The Lord Deliver You Over And Over Again! Believe That He Will Do It Again Next Year!

The truth is the Lord has been protecting us longer than we remember. we don’t remember all the ways he kept us as children.

we don’t remember all the ways he kept us as young adults.

we don’t even remember all the ways he kept us LAST YEAR! but we DO know…

that we are still here!

You Have Survived EVERY Attack On Your Life Up To This Point! The Lord Will Fight For You!

Look back over your life…

what has happened that has actually taken you out?

how many times did the Lord step in when you couldn’t help yourself? let’s not be afraid of the unknown…

but stand in faith trusting the Lord is taking care of it!

Deuteronomy 1:29-30

29 Then I said to you, “Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. 30 The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes,

Before your very eyes…

meaning you saw it before. you’ll see it again.

and WHEN you see it again… remember it!

so the NEXT time you’ll have peace.

Because you know he’ll fight for you!

Unbreakable Promise #2:

  • I May Not Get Everything I Want, But I’ll Get Everything I Need!

{repeat}

This promise is to help us not worry so much about what we can’t see… There are many things we might be praying for in 2026.

we might be praying for raises

we might be praying for a new home/car we might be praying for the lottery!

but while we don’t know what is in store for next year… we serve a God who says he will meet our needs!

Philippians 4:19

19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

The Lord has told us that we don’t need to worry… our NEEDS will be met.

How many needs?

All of them!

Matthew 6:26

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Birds don’t plant gardens or have refrigerators… yet they eat every single day.

Aren’t we more important than them?

You don’t HAVE to worry about your food when you trust him. What about clothes?

Matthew 6:28-30

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Don’t worry about clothes…

all the beautiful flowers in the field.

not even one of the great Kings are dressed that well…

if the Lord lets all that beauty be born today and die tomorrow in a field… will he not clothe you?

The Lord Wants Us To Stop Trying To Figure So Much Out And Trust Him! Putting That Pressure On Us Will Lead To Worry!

But we have a promise that ALL our needs will be met!

Matthew 6:31-33

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

There are people who run after the same things.

They don’t have a God who provides for them…so THEY have to figure it out. there is no promise for those who don’t believe.

But YOU are different.

You have a God who made a promise to you.

They may not be everything we want…

but some of us don’t need everything we WANT.

The Lord Wants The Best For You!

Psalm 84:11

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

The Lord is a giver!

and there is NO GOOD THING he won’t give to those who’s walk is blameless.

Most of the time we can’t see what the Lord is doing. all we can see are trial after trial pilling up.

so much so that we sometimes question if God loves us. but the bible says that if we seek him.

there’s nothing he won’t do for us!

If You Seek Him, He Will Take Care Of Everything Else!

The bible talks about how when you pray and ask for things… you can have them!

Proverbs 10:22

22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.

This means when the Lord sends a blessing… it’s perfect…

REMEMBER the blessings the Lord has given you…

The Lord Meets Needs In Ways You’d Never Expect!

You can’t predict what the Lord will do…

but only be amazed at his love for us.

{recap}:

2026 is fast approaching.

We have no idea what’s in store for us… but the Lord not only knows

but has a plan and promises for us!

He can’t break his word.

So as long as we do what we’re supposed to… that promise is ours!

What are the promises?

Unbreakable Promise #1:

  • There Will Be Rough Days, But Our Lord Will See Us Through Them!

{repeat}

We will have trouble next year. But just like this year…

and last year…

He will fight for us and carry us through next years’ trials!

Unbreakable Promise #2:

  • I May Not Get Everything I Want, But I’ll Get Everything I Need!

{repeat}

The Lord has promised to meet our needs.

He FREELY gives…

and his favor is unmatched.

We have to find promises for our lives we can stand on for next year. Next year might have some surprises…but the Lord will keep us together.

and not let us fall apart.
